6:15 p.m. – Gathering Time
6:30 p.m. – Break-Out Groups for All Ages

Doing a sermon series on the Prophets has been quite enlightening to me. I never cared much for gloom and doom until now. Never imagined it could be so much fun! Until now my favorite phrase from the Bible has been (all together now)….”and there will be much weeping and what? Gnashing of teeth…” Good stuff!

Saturday morning at 8am, 12 JYF youth and five adults and I drove to Possum Kingdom for one last summer day hoorah!! Steve and Linda, Ros and Jay, all met us at the cabin where everyone immediately put on life jackets and jumped into the lake for a morning swim. Now when I say jumped…I mean JUMPED. |

Two weeks ago Carole and I flew to North Carolina for a weeks visit with our friends Ann and Robert Heard, who live in Salisbury. Robert, Carole and I grew up together in Dallas, attended Gaston Ave. Baptist Church, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956. Robert and I roomed together all four years at Baylor.
To have been like brothers in our younger days, Robert and I haven’t seen much of each other over the past fifty years except when he came back to Texas to visit his mother. So, as you might imagine, we had lots of good conversation on his front porch every morning as we dined on Krispy Kremes and coffee. I haven’t laughed so much in years!

I always know two things—where my wallet is, and where my keys are. At home, my keys are on the shelf by the door (in a beautiful blue bowl that was a gift from a dear friend) and my wallet is on my desk. Away from home, my wallet is in my back pocket, keys in the front pocket. Period.
