The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, except for holiday weekends or if something major comes up.
Over 50 prayer shawls have been given away. We also do so much more than just prayer shawls. We have made scarves and pillows for breast cancer patients and knitted caps for chemotherapy patients. In 2012 we gave over 25 caps to the homeless at the Agape meal in Fort Worth. Each year since we start preparing to do that again in late summer, so the caps will be ready for the winter holidays.
We have people who knit, crochet, quilt and some who make the prayer bracelets and prayer beads.
Anyone is welcome to come learn, participate and join in fellowship. We have had a couple who work at home and just deliver them to us.
We pray individually over items as we craft, then we pray as a group over finished items. We then give them to the Tuesday prayer group to pray over them too.
