A Time for Everything
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. ECCLESIASTES 3:1
The theme that runs through the book of Ecclesiastes is this: It doesn’t matter if we’re rich or poor, if we’re popular or not. No matter how much we accumulate, we are all going to die and the people who come after us will take possession of our stuff. Eventually there will be nobody left who remembers us when we were alive. Happy New Year!
But there’s no need to despair. Even when it doesn’t seem like it, the balance of positive and negative experiences in life is a gift from God. God has given us our lives to live. We can work, make plans, and set goals, but ultimately, God holds the cards. And that is a good thing!
Ecclesiastes reminds us that we should strive to be content in the time that is given to us. Even in the midst of strife and trouble, we are able to look forward to the end of strife and trouble—because without them, we can’t appreciate the good times..
Every day is a new beginning; a gift from God. Every day gives new opportunities to spend time with God in prayer and meditation to try to find out who we are now and who God wants us to be.
The time is now.

Happy New Year! by Danny Couch
The calendar rolls over yet again! A new number to remember (2014), a fresh start, a new beginning, new hopes, dreams, and resolutions!
I love a new year. I love looking ahead and seeing how I, and the church, can do things better; be more effective, efficient, and resourceful.
I NEVER bought the idea of, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” theory. IALWAYS live with the mantra, “How can I be more effective with my life”. That requires much evaluation, soul searching, and seeking
guidance from the one who created me to be effective, efficient, and resourceful. Am I living up to the expectations God has of me? Well…there is always room for growth!
So this year, we will continue our effort to be the People God envisioned us to be! I can’t wait to get started. It begins by remembering who we are and what we do.
Our Church’s mission: To Grow, Live, and Share our FAITH Together”
Our faith is ever changing as we are ever growing in our quest to be on the same page with God.
FAITH is taking what we believe and applying it with our actions that reflect our life.
BELIEF is what we KNOW about God through Christ and what we have experienced in our past.
FAITH requires that we both KNOW and ACT even if we are not certain of the end result.
To build our faith we use seven building blocks: Worship, study of Scripture, relationships with people of faith, meditating daily, sharing our resources, using our spiritual gifts to serve others and sharing our faith story.
To grow in our faith requires that we become strong in all seven areas. Are you there yet? Or are you like me….”there is always room for growth”. Look forward to new and exciting opportunities to grow!
Thank you so much for your generous expressions of love now during the holidays, but also throughout the year! We truly are “blessed” to be a part of this community of faith and happy that you allow us to share in ministry with you. Many thanks to each of you for the sweet gifts we have received.
May your new year be filled with hope, peace, love, and much joy!
